President's Message

Dear NJDAA Members:

We have certainly had a busy 2019 and good communication with our members. Before we get to the new year ahead, I would like to give you the results of our legislative efforts.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to advise you that our bill for placing a dental assistant on the Board of Dentistry was pulled by the originator of the bill prior to a vote being taken. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Kim McMahon, a member and legislative chairwoman, who worked tirelessly on this issue for a very long time. It was certainly a valiant effort to have went so far in the legislative process.

A huge thank you to each of you who responded with emails to the committee and your legislative delegates when requested to do so.

On January 13th after the CE meeting, there will be an emergency meeting for members to discuss the issues affecting NJ dental assistants. Your feedback is very important and at this time we need as many dental assistants as we can to join this force so, feel free to invite a fellow coworker.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy New Year!

Sarah L. Siroka, CDA, RDA
